Little empirical research supports the benefits of video closed captioning for a wide variety of college-level learners, particularly those in the fully online environment. This presentation will report on a national study of students’ perceptions and uses of closed captioning. In addition to sharing the results of this research, this session will also include suggestions and practical advice based on the study results for how to improve the closed caption experience for all learners.
